This gathering is designed to introduce Youth Alive!'s work, explain why this partnership matters now, and invite the community into a broader conversation about healing, opportunity, and the future of Oakland. For 1200 Lakeshore residents, it is a chance to connect directly with a mission-driven organization working in the city many of us call home. For the broader Oakland community, it is an opportunity to learn how practical support, strategic philanthropy, and civic partnership can reinforce one another.
This announcement also marks the beginning of a larger story. Over the coming 12 weeks, we will be sharing a campaign that takes readers deeper into the work of violence intervention and recovery. We will explore how hospital bedside intervention can interrupt retaliation and trauma in the critical hours after an injury. We will highlight the role of mentorship in helping young people and impacted individuals build trust, stability, and a different path forward.
